Bertha Napitupulu,

President Director
  • studied economic development at Trisakti University in Jakarta before serving as a flight attendant for 4 years with Adam Air and Deraya Air.  She then studied communications at Universitas Pendidikan Nasional in Bali before joining the APCS team in 2010.

Loy Jones,

Senior Forester
  • Having 35+ years in forestry and the forest products business, Loy specializes in forest management and has experience in every aspect through previous work with private companies; local, state and national government; NGO's; and his own consulting firm in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. The last 12 years has been focused on forest certification and sustainable forest management through work with the Rainforest Alliance with his last position being the President Director of PT SmartWood Indonesia and Manager of the Asia Pacific Region of Rainforest Alliance (RA). He has extensive experience managing FSC certified forest management and chain of custody (CoC) clients in 26 countries within 3 continents and has served as a member or advisor to 6 FSC Regional Standard Working Groups thus has an intimate knowledge for the forest management standards and the requirements and evidence needed to show compliance. Under his guidance, the Asia Pacific Region was also responsible for developing and implementing the RA legality program and soon became one of the most active regions globally in carbon verification and validation. He is a senior auditor for FSC forest management and chain of custody and ISO Lead Auditor qualified.

Iwan Kurniawan Permadi,

Program Director
  • Iwan holds a Bachelor degree in Forest Management from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) majoring agroforestry and social forestry.  Iwan has five years’ experience as forester that covers forest management in natural forest and plantation, forest policy and regulation related to wood based industries and timber trading, HCVF and environmental monitoring and assessments. Iwan has extensive experience in auditing for forest management and Chain-of-Custody certification under FSC schemes, including HCVF and possess in-depth knowledge of timber legality verification system in Asia Pacific region, particularly within the following countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, China, Republic of Korea, Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. He is a qualified Lead Auditor for FSC Forest Management and Chain-of-Custody, and SVLK auditor.
    Iwan was involved in the first legality verification program in the region, develop the interim standards, conduct and manage the assessment and audit processes for Verification of Legal Origin (VLO) in Rainforest Alliance.
    He also actively involved as an Independent Auditor for the Global Forest and Trade Network (GFTN) – WWF for assessments and audits of several forest management concessions, members and candidate members of GFTN toward certification scheme.

Yongki Ikhtiyanto,

CoC Expert
  • has been in the forest products business for nine years; two years with a consulting firm in Bogor and five years managing the CoC staff and portfolio within the Asia Pacific Region for Rainforest Alliance in 24 different countries. In that position he was instrumental in growing new business in CoC 600% between 2007-2010 and developing a network of highly trained
    representatives and auditors throughout Asia Pacific.  His knowledge of the FSC chain of custody, trademark, and controlled wood standards were second to none within Rainforest Alliance and he is a senior trainer and senior chain of custody auditor. The last two years he’s been associated with APCS in helping companies getting FSC CoC certification and his portfolio includes wood working manufacturers, wood based product traders, project certification, and pulp and paper industries.

Langlang T. Buana,

Forestry and Carbon Project Coordinator
  • Langlang has a Bachelor degree in Forest Management and Silviculture from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). He pursued Master of Science in European Forestry conducted in six different universities across Europe under Erasmus Mundus scheme with research topic on the importance of subsoil organic carbon for global survey.
    Prior to joining APCS, he has been engaged with various international organizations as intern, consultant, and worked for JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), RECOFTC (Regional Community Forestry Training Center for Asia and the Pacific), IUFRO (International Union of Forest Research Organization), and Rainforest Alliance.
    He has passed the Lead Auditor Training on ISO 9001 by British Standard Institution as well as Timber Legality Verification Training conducted by Gajah Mada University. He has participated in 20 FSC FM/CoC, FSC FM/CW, VLO, and VLC assessments/audits in Asia Pacific region and is a qualified decision reviewer for FSC Forest Management Audit reports. He is also a qualified lead auditor for Verification of Legal Origin (VLO) and Verification of Legal Compliance (VLC) scheme.
    As part of his duties with APCS he is also developing a national Indonesia forest management group certification scheme for those concessions smaller than 60,000 ha and community forestry.

Ary Pawaka,

Admin Office Assistant
  • Having had 1 year experience as Sales Representative In Infomedia Nusantara (Subsidiaries by Telkom Indonesia) before joined APCS team. He is graduated from Bachelor of Management – Udayana University, Bali. Ary Pawaka has a great interest in Administration Management & Financial.

Irwan Madjied,

Engineering, Construction and Appraisal Expert
  • Irwan obtained an Engineering degree in University of Indonesia, then worked for Japanese building contractors such as PT. Taiyo Sinar Raya Teknik - a Sumitomo Group for 10 years, and then Zenitaka Corp. for about 2 years, both headquartered in Jakarta. He is an experienced contractor and his engineering skill serves as a basis for planning in broader business field. He now has his own engineering, construction, and appraisal business in Bali

Paulus Setiawan Darmana,

Senior IT
  • 16 years of experiences (including 14 years as IT Manager) working with various business type and company size. From large manufacturing on single site to multiple small retail stores. From high end network environment to low cost bulk connection. Paulus also have 2 cycle of ERP implementation experience (SAP and Dynamics AX).
